Blog Tour Stop : Bitten Shame by Olivia Hardin

Lizzyland is participating in author Olivia Hardin’s Blog Tour. She’s promoting her recently released Bitten Shame.

Bitten Shame (Book 2 of the Bend-Bite-Shift Trilogy)

Jill Prescott returned from self-imposed seclusion to help save her best friend Devan’s life. Throwing herself into Devan’s problems and bringing an evil organization to its knees might just be the distraction she needs to keep living without the only man she’s ever loved. Her life changed forever when she was hired to spend a week with Doc Massey.

On the day she became a vampire her youthful innocence ended, but Doc’s love rescued her from being consumed by the darkness. The shadow of that former life continues to loom over her, keeping her from realizing her own self-worth. Running from her past only brings her closer to a destiny that is inextricably connected to what she is trying to escape…

Every gift has both a reward and a price, because All of it fits…

Kindle / Paperback

About the Author – Olivia Hardin realized early on how strange she was to have complete movie-like character dreams as a child. Eventually she began putting those vivid dreams to paper and was rarely without her spiral notebooks full of those mental ramblings. Her forgotten vision of becoming an author was realized when she connected with a group of amazingly talented and fabulous writers who gave her lots of direction and encouragement. With a little extra push from family and friends, she hunkered down to get lost in the words. She’s also an insatiable crafter who only completes about 1 out of 5 projects, a jogger who hates to run, and is sometimes accused of being artistic, though she’s generally too much of a perfectionist to appreciate her own work. A native Texas girl, Olivia lives in the beautiful Lone Star state with her husband and their puppy Bonnie.

Supporting Characters – Interview with Charlie from Bitten Shame and “Tell A Soul”

Olivia:    Hello, Charlie, good to have you here.

Charlie:  Hey, girlie, glad you invited me. * taps cane as he settles into his seat*

Olivia:  So we get to meet you for the first time in Bitten Shame.  You’ve been Doc’s friend for a while, haven’t you?

Charlie:  We go back a ways, all the way to medical school together.  He was far more brilliant than I was… which explains why he became such a great surgeon.

Olivia:  And you’ve lived at the hospital with him.

Charlie:  *nods, smiling as he rubs his palm against his grizzled beard* And then Jill came to live there and now the little ones are showing up too.

Olivia:  Ah, yes, in the short story “Tell A Soul” we get to see the first of the magical children arriving there.  In my dedication page in Bitten Shame I talk about supporting characters and how everyone has a purpose… how do you see your role playing out in Bend-Bite-Shift?

Charlie: *squints eyes in deep thought and places both hands atop his cane*  Man, girlie, I don’t know.  You’re the writer.  I mean, Doc and I have been close friends for a very long time.  I took care of him when he had no one else.  And Jill… I love that lady like she was my own daughter.  The big guy, Langston’s a good fellow too.  I’d like to have a continuing role with all those friends.  But then, you know I miss my wife too, so…

Olivia: I know you miss her.  I think the readers can rest assured that you still have a place in Bend-Bite Shift.  None of the characters in the story are truly secondary… I love all of you!  *winks and smiles warmly*  So thanks for sitting down with me, Charlie.  You’d probably get back.  No telling what the kiddos are getting into.

*The old man laughs as he leans forward to work his way slowly out of his chair.  A shuffle, shuffle tap follows him down the hallway and out of sight*

  1. Ok Lizzy – You got me. I went and bought the first book (insert eye roll here). You are NOT helping me make my list smaller! But thanks for the suggestion anyway :)

    • Olivia – Well as I said above, I bought the first book and I really enjoyed it, so I went ahead and bought the second book! I tell you what, you indie authors ALWAYS seem to leave things on a cliff hanger of sorts and then I’m compelled to buy the next books right away! Any idea when the third one will come out?

  2. This is so not fair…LOL I was here for another Blog Hop and found this one too. I haven’t read Olivia’s book yet, but I will now. It sounds so very good. My reading pile is growing. I hope when I leave this earth one day in the far, far future I can take my unread books with me… :)
    Thanks Lizzy and Olivia.
